The Spanish Federation has sanctioned Valencia with a partial closure of the Mestalla stadium for five matches and a $48,000 fine following fans’ racial abuse of Vinicius Junior. Furthermore, La Liga has created several sanctions, including the arrest of three fans identified from Sunday’s clash between Valencia and Real Madrid.
In the 1-0 win over Valencia on Sunday, the game was overshadowed by racial abuse on Vinicius Junior, which caused the reaction from the Brazilian before he was subsequently sent off after a scuffle with Valencia players, especially Hugo Duro.
Even though Valencia have arrested and placed fans on a life ban from the stadium, they have also been fined €45,000.
