Naomi Osaka admits that she will never be satisfied with herself as she enters the third round at the Australian Open

Recently after Naomi Osaka’s second round win over Madison Brengle at th Australian, the Japanese star called herself the perfectionist. She also highlighted how she will be never satisfied with herself if she keeps comparing herself with her past.

In the post-match Interview, Osaka was asked to rate her performance after the second round win where the former Australian Open stated that she does not do that as it would not satisfy her. She also revealed how she is focused in taking things one day at a time.

“Honestly, I’m trying not to do that [rate herself after every match]. I’m a bit of a perfectionist. I feel like if I compare myself to the past, I’ll never be satisfied. I’m trying to take it one day at a time,” Osaka began.

Osaka has been in dominant form at this year’s Australian Open. She will be brimming with confidence after her win against Brengle. The Japanese star will now face 20-year-old American youngster Amanda Anisimovic in a tricky third round clash.

The 20-year-old youngster is in great form as she was crowned the winner of the Melbourne Summer Set event in the lead up to the Grand Slam Down Under. Adding to that the American is on a seven game winning streak and is unbeaten this year. She recently knocked out Tokyo Olympics gold medallist Belinda Bencic in the second round of the Australian Open. Bencic was one of the contenders for the title and to come up against her and defeat her 6-2, 7-5 in straight is a tremendous feat for someone as young as Anisimova.

It will surely be a challenge for Osaka as she looks to get back to her natural form and win the Australian Open yet again. However to achieve that feat she will face overcoming all the tricky challenges that come her way at the Happy Slam.

While Anisimova is surely a tricky opponent, Osaka will surely start the third round clash as a clear favourite as she aims for her third Australian Open and fifth Major overall. The Japanese star is on a ridiculous nine game winning streak in Melbourne and it promises the viewers a mouth watering contest.
