There’s a tension in the air with Zinedine Zidane’s rumours of becoming the next Brazil boss intensifies as France Football Federation chief Noel Le Graet has lashed out at the former Real madrid manager. He has made some wrong comments regarding the French legend and a very well established manager.
Zidane once was in line to become the next France manager following Didier Deschamps departure but now after hearing Le Graet’s statement regarding the player turned coach, it seems difficult. However Paris Saint Germain manager Christophe Galtier has decided to not make any harsh comments on the FFF president following his comments on Zidane. Galtier’s stance is simple as it seems to stay away from the heat and allow the two people to take all the limelight.
Le Graet lashed out at Zidane and claimed that he does not care if the French tactician takes up the Brazil job but also made it clear that he will not pick up Zidane’s call in future for the France job. “Did Zidane tried to reach me? Certainly not, I wouldn’t even have picked up the phone anyway. I’ve never met him, we never considered parting with Didier,” he told RMC Sport regarding Zinedine Zidane’s stance of sailing in two boats.
These statements saw the football fraternity unite and criticize the France Football Federation president for his words on someone as great as Zidane. Le Graet since then has apologized for being too harsh.
Another French tactician Christophe Galtier who is currently the Paris Saint Germain boss refrained from lashing out at Le Graet as he clearly stated how he should not kick someone who is already down at the moment.
“Zidane deserves respect and I am convinced he has the respect of everyone. I’m not in the habit of kicking a man when he’s down so I won’t comment further,’ said the PSG manager.
Zidane’s former club Real Madrid slammed the FFF president for his disrespectful comments on a great footballer and manager as they released a statement. They also brought up Le Graet’s disrespect towards their French forward Karim Benzema and simply condemned the statements made by the president.
Paris Saint Germain and France superstar Kylian Mbappe also criticized the comments made by the FFF President as Zidane is someone of stature and France’s pride.
