Patson Daka and Wilfred Nididi were both on target as Leicester City beat Randers 4-1 in the first leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League playoff tie.
The Foxes were dominant from start to finish as Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi put the Kings Power stadium team in the lead in the 23rd minute but Hammershøy-Mistrati equalized right on the stroke of halftime.
However, Harvey Barnes and Patson Daka quickly put the game and potentially the tie out of the reach of the Danes within the first fifteen minutes of the second half, while Dewsbury-Hall put the icing on the cake in the 74th minute for 4-1, Ademola Lookman had two assists.
The former Fulham winger who recently switched international allegiance to Nigeria provided the opener for Wilfred Ndidi and the assist for the Foxes’ fourth goal.
However, there were injury concerns for Leicester City as James Madison and Soyuncu were both substituted due to injury. Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers revealed an update about the status of both players that will be known by Friday.
He also gave his views about the emphatic victory by his team on Thursday evening while also revealing that Leicester City are also in the competition to win it.
“Their goal was a reminder that if you make any mistakes, no matter how dominant you are, you can be punished. Our goal for the remainder of the season is to finish as high as we can in the league, to keep developing, improving, and getting players back. We want to finish as strong as we can and bring that into the following season. In this competition, everyone is in it to win it and we are no different.” Rodgers said.
The second leg of the fixture will come up next Thursday in Denmark.
