Kevin McDonald speaks on lockdown, his daily routine in Scotland

Fulham midfielder,  Kevin McDonald has said that it has been strange that for athletes not being able to do what they love to do.

Speaking with Fulham TV, the Scottish said that everyone started gaining an understanding of what was likely to happen after few days of the lockdown after initially hoping that training would resume after a week of the lockdown.

He, therefore, said that all that is left for footballers is to maintain the mentality of returning to the game because they have to keep being professional.

“It’s just a tough thing to do. After the first few days, I went back to Scotland on a few days. Everyone has been growing on the same wavelength over the situation through a group chat.”

Speaking of his family, McDonald said everyone is okay as they managed the situation for the first few weeks.

“First few days were normal as we still have dinners, drinks with friends and all that stuff. Just trying to live a kind of life like ‘we would go back to football soon’. ”

He further stated that after realising that he won’t come back to England soon, he had to stay for another week and weeks and he is yet to know when action would resume.

He also said the period allowed him to have some time to see that every member of his family is fine.

He also said that he had maintained a constant conversation with the gaffer whom he said to contact him at least once in a week to check on everyone.

“He’s got an open number for anyone to call or chat him anytime. He’s been spot on as you can imagine,” the midfielder added.

Speaking on the club’s push for promotion, the midfielder pointed out that it is important to be mentally ready for actions as soon as the green light is given.

On his day to day activities, he said he goes on with his daily exercise and have more time for his family too.

“My wife works from home. We watch movies and make dinner together. We tried to make every day feel like a weekend due to the situation. But it’s strange, you can’t just walk out now, but we had to do what has to be done.

England currently has over 10,000 deaths from coronavirus. The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson recently recovered from COVID-19 after landing in the ICU some days ago to fight off the dreaded virus.

The English leader has now been released, and he would be allowed to rest for some weeks before resuming work.
