Germany’s defensive midfielder Joshua Kimmich believes Cristiano Ronaldo is more complete in terms of skills than Lionel Messi. Ronaldo leads the goal-scoring charts for International as well as club football whereas Messi is also not far behind.
Ronaldo has this knack for being at the right place at the right time and his goal-scoring abilities are second to none. The Portuguese striker’s record speaks for itself and he has been a consistent performer.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 140 goals in the Champions League whereas Messi has netted 125 goals. They are the only two players to score 100 goals or more in the competition.
“When it comes to goal quotas, Ronaldo is in the lead,” he told Bild. “Especially with regards to the goals in the Champions League. Messi is a completely different type of player. Ronaldo is perhaps more complete in terms of skills themselves.”
It is well known that the Argentine has the skills to breach through the opposition defense as he is a fantastic dribbler whereas Ronaldo is known for his speed.
“Messi is more of a dribbler, Ronaldo the final player. I cannot say this one or that one [is better]. I am glad that I am allowed to witness both.
Kimmich hailed Ronaldo as a goal-scoring machine and he feels it will be imperative for Germany to put brakes on him.
“Such a player as Ronaldo, you can only turn off as a whole team anyway. He is a goal machine, which has an insane goal quota. We have to make sure that he cannot continue his run,” the German added.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo scored 24 goals and provided three assists in 38 matches across competitions for Manchester United in the previous season whereas Messi scored 11 goals and provided 15 assists for PSG Saint-Germain in Ligue 1.
