Edinson Cavani’s father claims that his son is not happy in England and may leave for Boca Juniors in summer

Edinson Cavani’s future at Manchester United is in jeopardy as his father, Luis, revealed that his son is not happy with his current stint in England and wants to return to South America to stay close to his family.

The former Paris Saint Germain marksman finished his contract at Parc des Princes and then joined Manchester United in a one year contract with both sides having an option to increase it by another year.

Cavani has had a positive impact on the Red Devils’ overall performances and everyone at the clubs including the supporters really like his hardworking nature and never die spirit. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has only spoken good things about the Uruguay international.

But with the current scenario coming up it looks like Cavani will be heading over to Argentina and may don the Boca Juniors jersey for the next season.

Luis recently spoke in an Argentinian football show named Superfutbol hosted by the TyC Sports Network. He clearly revealed how his son is not happy with his stay in England and is looking to come back to South America and may join Boca Juniors in the summer. The basic points of Cavani not being comfortable in England ranges back to the racist ban that the Football Association (FA) imposed on him for using the racist remarks on Instagram.

“I want Edinson to play for a team that fights for important trophies. He has had many conversations with [Boca vice-president Juan Roman] Riquelme and would like to play for Boca.

“At the halfway point of the year, he’d like to return to South America. My son’s idea is not to continue there [in Manchester]. He wants to return,” Cavani’s father said.

“I think he’s going to come back in June this year. He has a clause in his contract which allows him to leave in June.

“There are things which sometimes annoy us as humans, as people, the whole ‘n**rito’ ban issue annoyed him. That has been playing on him, sometimes players can’t find form either, these things can weigh heavy on you. Sometimes mentally you can get dragged down.,” he continued.

On the other hand, Solskjaer wants the 34-year old forward to stay at Old Trafford for at least another season.  Cavani has added that much needed depth in attack for the Red Devils and has scoring six goals this season in the Premier League which is great return considering the amount of time he has featured on the pitch. His experience also adds another dimension and he always works hard which is also an added bonus for every coach.

Therefore Solskjaer is also eager to keep the Uruguayan at the club for one more year and he confirmed a couple of weeks ago that he is set to have a discussion with Cavani about the renewal.

“I can only say Edinson has done well,” the United manager said. “I’ve been impressed by him, he’s really gelled in the group and we’ll sit down and speak with him in the near future to see his plans and our plans.

“It’s a good discussion to have. We always speak to the players and with his contract situation at the moment we’re very pleased with what he’s done,” Solskjaer revealed.
