Football fans are always divided between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Indian wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik has picked Lionel Messi as his favorite footballer over Cristiano Ronaldo. The Indian veteran was asked to pick between two players on BCCI.TV.
Karthik feels Messi is slightly different from Ronaldo and he enjoys watching him play.
Karthik said, “Messi. He is slightly different. I enjoyed watching him whatever little I have watched of him so far.”
On the other hand, former Indian captain Virat Kohli admires Cristiano Ronaldo’s work ethics. Furthermore, fast bowler Mohammed Siraj celebrates his wickets in the same fashion as Ronaldo celebrates his goal.
Moreover, former Indian legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar is a Lionel Messi fan whereas spinner Kuldeep Yadav likes Neymar Jr. Thus, Indian cricketers have different footballers as their favorite players.
On the other hand, Cristiano Ronaldo recently scored a brace against Switzerland in Portugal’s 4-0 win in the UEFA Nations League. However, Portugal lost by 1-0 against Switzerland on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Lionel Messi also had a good International break with Argentina. The La Albiceleste defeated Italy by 3-0 in Finalissima and Messi provided two assists to bag the Player of the Match award. Furthermore, the Argentine number 10 scored five goals against Estonia in a friendly clash to help his team win 5-0.
Thus, both Ronaldo and Messi look in good form and they will look to give their best in the FIFA World Cup 2022.
On the other hand, Dinesh Karthik is currently part of India’s five-match T20I series against South Africa. Karthik had scored 30 runs off 21 balls in the second match against the Proteas at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack on Sunday. Karthik was named in India’s squad after impressive performances in the Tata Indian Premier League while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
