Clinical Bayern romps to 5-0 victory over Viktoria Plzen

Bayer Munich continued their fine form in Europe after the 5-0 demolition of Viktoria Plzen at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday evening.

Goals from Gnabry, Mane Chupo-Moting, and a brilliant brace from Leroy Sane marked an emphatic win for the hosts.

The Bavarians made history on the night by recording their 31st win in the UEFA Champions League group stages without tasting defeat.

Heading into the game, the Czech Republic side continue their group C fixture, failing to record a single point. With a tricky tie against the Bundesliga champions, it got even more complicated than it should be.

While Bayern, on the run of two wins over Inter Milan and Barcelona, secured six points.

Bayern Manager Julian Nagelsmann came up with a lineup in the absence of his usual suspects, Thomas Muller and Joshua Kimmich, who are currently isolated after contracting the COVID -19 virus.

The visitors found themselves three-nil down inside 20 minutes as the Bavarians proved too hot to handle with every smooth touch and move, producing a goal.

Leroy Sane opened the scoring as early as the 7th minute after being given too much time and space, firing past goalkeeper Marian Tvrdon.

Viktoria Plzen was carved open once again on the counter as Serge Gnabry doubled his side lead following a brilliant pass from Leon  Goretzka.

It was far beyond redemption for the Czech Champions as Senegalese International Sadio Mane made it 3-0 in the 21st minute.

Nagelsmann made some changes by bringing on Eric Maxim Chupo Moting for youngster  Jamal Musiala while Josip Stansic replaced Canadian international Alphonso Davies.

It was 4-0 in the 50th minute as Sane got his brace, all thanks to Mane, who gave a loop pass over the Plzen defense.

Coupon Moting joined the party as he completed the rout in the 59th minute to cap a fantastic night for his side. 

Bayern sits top of Group C with nine points from three games.

Next for Bayern is a trip to Dortmund on Saturday 8th, October.
