Barcelona made their third signing of the week after bringing in Emerson from Real Betis on Wednesday as he became the Catalonians’ third signing after Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia.
The duo of Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia was brought into the Camp Nou earlier in the week from Manchester City.
Meanwhile, Emerson was part of a three-way deal in January 2019 which saw the defender move from Brazil to Barcelona but joining Real Betis on a loan deal before Barcelona decided to exercise their option to buy this summer.
The 22-year-old full-back was previously with Atletico Mineiro before moving to Europe. With Real Betis, he made 79 appearances and scored five goals with 10 assists.
He was instrumental for Real Betis as they made the Europa League spot in the La Liga.
Meanwhile, Barcelona continues to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2021/2020 season after finishing third in the La Liga and winning the Carabao cup. They were also knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by PSG in the round of 16.
Ronald Koeman’s side is also in the market for Liverpool Dutch midfielder Gini Wijnaldum who could join the Blaugrana in the summer on a free.
They are also interested in Dutch forward, Memphis Depay who scored a brace as the Netherlands drew 2-2 Scotland in an international friendly.
Sergio Aguero and Eric Dier will join the team once their respective deals with Manchester City expire. The duo ended the season as Premier League champions with Pep Guardiola’s side but fell short of the UEFA Champions League title after losing 1-0 to Chelsea in Portugal last week.
Meanwhile, Barcelona forwards Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele scored as France defeated ten-man Wales 3-0 in an international friendly as Kylian Mbappe also got on the score sheet.
