Fury’s camp reveals preparation for Usyk fight would be hard

The highly anticipated heavyweight title fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk is once again making headlines. The latest round of negotiations has led to speculation that the fight may take place as early as April 29th, leaving Fury with limited time to prepare for the bout.

Fury’s coach, SugarHill Steward, has acknowledged that his fighter will need to “train extra hard” if he is to be ready for the April 29th date. Steward is confident in Fury’s ability to take on Usyk, the unified WBO, WBA, and IBF titlist, but he knows that the shortened training camp will pose a challenge.

Steward revealed that the game plan for the fight is always a knockout and that he and Fury will be studying Usyk’s movements and making adjustments accordingly. “Good jabs set up knockouts,” Steward explained. “It’s not just one gameplan ever. It’s seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 13. We’re only doing 12 rounds, but you’ve got an extra one in the bag always.”

The fight between Fury and Usyk is for the undisputed heavyweight championship, and the WBA has set a deadline of April 1st for a signed bout contract to be submitted. If the contract is not received by that date, the WBA will instruct Usyk to begin negotiations with their mandatory heavyweight challenger, Daniel Dubois, in order to retain the title.

Fury and Usyk have both expressed confidence in their ability to win the fight, and it remains to be seen who will emerge victorious. The public back-and-forth between the two fighters has only served to heighten anticipation for what promises to be an explosive showdown in the ring.

In the end, the April 29th date may prove to be a significant factor in the outcome of the fight. Fury will have to train harder and smarter than ever before in order to be ready for Usyk, but he has shown time and again that he is more than capable of rising to the occasion. Fans around the world will be eagerly watching as the drama unfolds in the coming weeks.
