Derek Chisora has said that he is ready to meet with Tyson Fury for the third time. This is coming just days after Fury ended their friendship and threatened to punch him in the face after Chisora bet against him when he faced Dillian Whyte back in April.
Fury and Chisora first met in the ring in 2011, and Fury won by a unanimous decision. They met again in 2014 when Chisora retired after the 10th round. Despite their history in the ring, the two have formed somewhat of a friendship over the past years, which is why Fury felt let down after finding out that Chisora backed Whyte to beat him when they fought in April.
Speaking recently at an interview with talkSPORT, Fury described how he had been there for Chisora, only to have him pick Whyte over him: “Me and Derek Chisora used to be chum buddies. I went to Monaco to support him. I went to Hamburg to support him.
“Then, as soon as I have a fight, he goes, ‘I’ll pick the other guy.’ So, Derek Chisora can kiss my arse, and if I see him, I’m going to punch him in the face. After the fight, he came to the afterparty and said this, that, and the other made a million excuses. At the end of the day, you don’t do that to your friends.”
It feels like Fury might be a bit justified to end his friendship with Chisora over that fact, but Chisora is not done with him yet, as he has now asked for a trilogy fight, saying if he does not get it, he would move to Deontay Wilder.
Chisora speaking with IFL TV, said: “Listen, Frank Warren and the ‘Gypsy King’s posee, just tell me when and where or what time and i am there. I just want to fight; if you are a fighter, you should fight everybody out there. It is just business. It would be a great fight with Tyson. I have respect for Tyson and his family, but if he wants to fight… and if he doesn’t, I want to fight Deontay Wilder.”
It is unlikely that Fury, who is still in retirement, would accept. He already said in June that he would only fight for £500million, which is another way of saying he would only fight when he chooses to, not when asked to.
