The NBA has announced Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse as the NBA Coach of the Year for the 2019-20 season.
The NBA made the announcement on Saturday, making Nurse win the award in just his second season in charge as an NBA coach.
He also won the NBA G League Coach of the year with Iowa Wolves (then Iowa Energy) in 2011, and he is also the first coach to win the coach of the year award in the G League and the NBA.
Nurse had 470 total points with 90 first-place votes from a global panel of 100 sportswriters and broadcasters, according to the NBA.
Meanwhile, Milwaukee Bucks’ Mike Budenholzer, who is a two-time NBA Coach of the Year, finished in second while Oklahoma City Thunder’s Billy Donovan ended up third with 147 points and 134 points respectively.
