Skip Bayless hypes up Austin Reaves and believes that he can win the Lakers and LeBron James the upcoming NBA Championship

The Los Angeles Lakers have had a decent offseason as they have acquired some nice pieces for the upcoming season. Therefore many people believe that LeBron James and the Lakers will be unstoppable next season. One of the players who was exceptional last season for the Lakers was Austin Reaves and now the youngster has signed a four-year deal worth $56 million.

NBA analyst Skip Bayless feels that re-signing reeves will be a major boost for the Lakers as they aim to win the NBA Championship. Bayless also made some audacious claims as he highlighted how Reeves was the best player for the Lakers last season and was the primary reason for their deep playoffs run. He firmly believes that Reaves will boost LeBron’s chances of winning his fifth NBA Championship.

Bayless then praises Reaves for his incredible performances last season, especially in the playoffs. He also highlighted that he has not seen a player improve so much from college basketball to the NBA and tips his hat to him for working so hard on his skillset.

“The biggest reason LeBron James has a good chance of winning his 5th ring… I have never ever seen a player improve so much. From college basketball to pro basketball. Never ever, the way Austin Reaves has right before our very own wide open eyes,” Bayless stated.

The NBA analyst shared that the Lakers did the right thing to steal him back from free agency and Bayless believes that Reaves deserves twice what the Lakers have signed him. “The Lakers stole him back in free agency. He deserved twice what they paid him. In fact, they made it clear they were prepared to pay him almost twice what he wound up with from the Lakers,” he added.

Bayless felt that Reaves deserves a lot more than he signed for. He simply cannot believe that the best Lakers player in the last season’s playoffs is the fifth-highest earner in the current Lakers team.

“Let this sink in, the Lakers’ best player in last year’s playoffs, the best player easily in the conference finals against Denver will now be the fifth highest-paid player on the Lakers next season,” a disappointed Bayless concluded.

Bayless definitely sees the youngster very differently than the majority. The fact that he called him the best player for the Lakers when they already have players like LeBron James and Anthony Davis’s calibre is strange. He definitely believes that Reaves has big things lined up for him in the NBA.

Many people praised the Lakers for not chasing big superstars during the offseason as they decided to secure the acquisitions that helped them have a deep playoff run. They have added a few important players to the supporting cast but no big names just yet.
