Nobody deserved to be finals MVP than Steph Curry – Giannis Antetokounmpo

Milwaukee Bucks talisman Giannis Antetokounmpo believes nobody deserved to be the finals MVP than Golden State Warriors’ linchpin Steph Curry. The 34-year-old was at his best against Boston Celtics in the NBA finals and helped his team win the series by 4-2.

Curry averaged 31.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steal while shooting 48.2% overall in the NBA Finals as he was at his best for the Dubs. Thus, he was awarded the Bill Russell Final MVP trophy for his consistent performances throughout the six matches.

Curry didn’t have the best of Game 5 as he could not hit a single three-pointer. However, he was able to turn the tables in Game 6 as he scored 34 points.

“Congrats to them,” Antetokounmpo said while talking to the “Renaissance Man” podcast with former NBA player Jalen Rose. “They worked extremely hard, played through adversity. They’ve been together ten years, they’ve had a great decade, it’s unbelievable. And Steph Curry, there’s no better person in the world right now that deserves the trophy more than him. He played his butt off and I’m happy for them.”

Curry also got support from Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, Jordan Poole, and Andrew Wiggins as GSW were able to come up with a collective effort.

On the other hand, Milwaukee Bucks were also one of the favorites to win the NBA Championship. But they coped a big blow when Khris Middleton was ruled out due to an injury. The Bucks were knocked out by Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference semifinals and they did miss the services of Middleton.

Greek Freak added, ”But obviously we still have that little bit of pain knowing that if Khris played, we’d have probably be there,” Antetokounmpo stated. “But at the end of the day, that’s life… Next year we’ve another opportunity to be great and hopefully we can stay healthy and be great.”
