The next NBA season is three months away and the Milwaukee Bucks fans are still supporting their second Championship. The Bucks triumphed over the Phoenix Suns in the NBA finals to clinch their first title in 50 years, second overall. Their talisman Giannis Antetokounmpo was adjudged as the Finals MVP for his outstanding performance.
While the Bucks are soaking in the celebrations for the Championship, Antetokounmpo has already started making plans for the upcoming season. He wants to win the NBA Championship all over again in the next season. Despite injuries, Giannis’ never give up attitude also motivates his teammates. It has also played a big role in the Milwaukee Bucks winning the Championship after 50 long years. The Bucks were 0-2 down against the Suns and from there they came back to win the Championship providing a testament of character, grit and determination to win.
However the Greek Freak is not satisfied with one NBA title, he is gearing up for the upcoming season as he plans to win the Championship again. He has tasted success once and now he wants to make it a habit.
After his team’s title win last season, Giannis Antetokounmpo was asked about the feeling of featuring in the playoffs. He pointed out how he plays with a carefree mind and enjoys the atmosphere. He said, “I love the playoffs and the pressure. I enjoy the pressure, I didn’t care about the result. And now what’s next? Now I know what it takes, now I want to do it again. It’s like challenging myself. I want to please my people even though I have nothing to prove.”
The Greek Freak’s competitive spirit is exceptional as he does not want to rest since he knows that he is at his prime and can win the title with his team again in the upcoming season. Antetokounmpo was the difference-maker in the finals and despite injury concerns, he came out on top to tame the Phoenix Suns. He averaged a mammoth 35 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists in the finals and with that, he also had two blocks per game proving that he is a very well rounded player.
It is great to see him hold that level of ambition but it won’t be easy for the Bucks to win the upcoming season especially if most of the players are fit during the postseason. If teams will have their entire roster available during the playoffs then it will be tough for Mike Budenholzer’s men to win consecutive Championships.
