Jalen Rose feels Brooklyn Nets will have a glorious first round exit as he feels Durant won’t be able to take them deep all alone

The Brooklyn Nets have seen a major transformation in the last few months. The Nets were seen as title contenders especially because of their deadly trio of Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving. Hence many fans felt that the nets can win the Championship this season if things go alright and players take care of their health. But things have taken a rough turn in the last few months and James Harden has been traded to Philadelphia 76ers after things were not working out with Durant and others.

Kyrie Irving’s involvement is also questionable as he has gone missing for many matches this season as he is still not vaccinated and is not allowed to play home matches in Brooklyn.

So Kevin Durant has been on his own for the major part of the season. But his ability to carry the Nets deep into the postseason was also questioned by several NBA Analysts. Recently in Thursday’s episode of “Jalen & Jacoby”, Jalen Rose shared his opinion on the Brooklyn Nets not being able to make it past the first round of the NBA playoffs this year.

Rose said, “The most glorified first-round exit in the history of the NBA.”

Rose went on adding how he does not believe that Kevin Durant can carry this team deep into the playoffs and will be able to do it all alone. “I know the greatness of Kevin Durant. … But what I’m trying to tell people like you, it’s a team game. And here’s another thing I’m going to tell you that you’re not gonna like about this team game: He’s so very great, that he ain’t great enough to lift a team by himself.”

The Brooklyn Nets are eighth in the  Eastern Conference with a record of 36-34. They have been very inconsistent this season with flashes of brilliance from Kevin Durant. They will need Ben Simmons to be at his best while players like Seth Curry will also have to play a big role in helping the Nets get back to where they belong.

“Having Kevin Durant does give you a puncher’s chance. But if Ben Simmons is not gonna be an All-Star level player, and Kyrie Irving decides to still not get vaccinated …” Rose opined.

It remains to be seen if Kyrie Irving puts his team first and gets vaccinated or not. Similarly, a lot depends on how Seth Curry and Ben Simmons will perform in the upcoming matches.
