“I haven’t reached my peak yet,” Celtics star Jaylen Brown shares after signing record-breaking NBA contract extension

Boston Celtics superstar Jaylen Brown has signed the biggest contract in NBA history. He has secured his next five years with a record-breaking deal. He also made a lot of promises to the Celtic fans right after putting pen to paper.

Brown has been a sensational player for Celtics and he has proven that many times in the last few years. Although the Celtics have failed to win the NBA Championship, he has mostly given his best. Also, he is only 26 years old and will only get better from here with a lot of playoff experience.

The superstar guard has signed a five-year worth $304 million extension with the Boston Celtics, keeping the iconic duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown together in Boston. After another disappointing postseason, where the Celtics played really well but not enough to win the Championship. So many felt that Brown could be traded for someone more experienced like Damian Lillard. But finally the Boston Celtic and Brown came to an agreement.

The deal that both parties agreed on is the most expensive NBA contract and now the team management will hope that Brown delivers on the court as well and help them raise banner 18. It is essential to speak about his exceptional performances in the last few years and his synergy with Tatum has also taken the Celtics to the next level. They just need to go the extra mile to win the Championship.

The contract has stirred a lot of mixed reactions from the fans. Many felt that it was a massive overpay and wanted someone like Lillard to come in and join forces with Tatum. While others are very happy that Brown has committed his future with the franchise.

However, the 26-year-old has pledged his commitment to the franchise. He also shared that he has not reached his peak and his best days are yet to come. So the Celtics can surely hope for big things to come from the Jays in the upcoming seasons.

“It’s funny how motivation is losing in itself. Falling short gives all the motivation in the world to get back and be better. Me in my brain knowing that I can be better than I was last year, even though I was All-NBA second team or whatever the accolades was. I still think you haven’t seen me play my best basketball or reach my peak yet,” Brown shared his thought after signing a new contract.

With Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the Celtics have not lacked consistency in the last few seasons. But they have also not managed to take the franchise over the line. However, with Kristaps Porzingis joining the team, who was traded for Marcus Smart, the Celtics are only going to get better from here.

But sometimes with changes, there come uncertainties which can also be a major factor. Also losing a leader like Smart and a team man like Grant Williams may also hamper their morale. But for now, time will answer it all.
